You should email your customers

Customer Emails
Generate 35 – 40X ROI

Businesses should be sending 10x the emails they are… from selling soda to enterprise business software, email is the highest ROI channel for any business.

There are a few reasons for that:

  1. You have complete control of the message
  2. You have complete control of the contacts
  3. You have complete control of the tracking

Let’s break down how you can apply customer emails in your business.

Service-Based Businesses

It takes a lot of work to generate a lead. And even more to convert one.

Early on you’re more likely to focus on generating as many new leads as possible. But after a few years of being in business, you’ve likely landed quite a few customers.

Those customers are your true fans. The ones who are most likely to refer you to new business, and are most prone to purchase from you again.

The easiest way to keep in contact with them is by regularly sending them emails.

This could come in a lot of forms:

  • New service announcements
  • Free resources & research
  • Free educational content
  • Promotions/discounts
  • Referral incentives
  • Company news

Any of these are a great reason to contact your past customers.

Keeping you top of mind for when they’re in the market again or when someone they know is in the market.

You want your name to leap out of their mouth the second they hear that someone has a problem you solve.

That will only happen if you stay in touch.

Product-Based Businesses

eCommerce businesses have adopted email for a long time as a long-term revenue driver.

Many of the same types of emails service-based businesses use also work for product businesses. But product-based businesses have a few extra options up their sleeve.

Emails like:

  • Product catalogs
  • Monthly promotions
  • Abandoned cart followups
  • Limited-time product pushes
  • “People also bought” products
  • Waitlists to hype up product launches
  • Welcome back coupons for returning customers
  • Subscription services for automatic refills/reorders

These are all proven to lead to direct sales.

And the thing is… most businesses could use all of them at the same time.

There’s no “limit” to the amount of email you should send. In every study that’s ever been done on how email affects revenue, more email always equaled more revenue.

There is a direct correlation between how many times (and ways) your customer hears from you and your top-line revenue.

Want to add 2-3x on your top line this year?
The first thing you should do is send more emails.
